Permanent Parishioners
Get Involved!
The Permanent Parishioners at St. Mary's Catholic Center are a vital part of our community. Permanent Parishioners support St. Mary’s mission of "Forming Apostles for the Church and the World" by engaging in activities with the students and each other, looking to St. Joseph as their patron and model. Please see below for opportunities to get involved! If you have any questions, please contact a member of the Permanent Parishioner Commission (contact info at bottom of this page).
Called to Serve?
The St. Mary’s Permanent Parishioners are a unique group of parishioners especially because their main focus is to support the students and the campus ministry. If you are interested in helping serve our students see the ways you can volunteer below!
Adopt an Aggie
This is a ministry that connects permanent family parishioners and students from Texas A&M and Blinn. The Adopt-an-Aggie program is a way for a student to have a "family" away from home, a home-cooked meal, and a chance to experience some of the comforts of home. Learn more about this program here.
Marriage Preparation Ministry
St. Mary’s currently offers two ways you can help engaged couples preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage: meeting with a couple 1-on-1 in your home and going through a workbook together; or, serving as a mentor couple for our 6 week Water to Wine program where you serve as a small group leader with your spouse. If you are interested in helping, please email Kevin at kpesek@aggiecatholic.org. You must be married to help.
RCIA
If you are interested in helping others walk in their faith journey by being a small group leader for RCIA, please contact Kevin Pesek at kpesek@aggiecatholic.org. RCIA classes are on Tuesday nights from 7:30 PM- 9:30 PM
Host Homes for the Clergy
We have multiple visiting clergy and religious that come to St. Mary's throughout the year. As an extension of hospitality, we like to offer a ‘host home’ to them during their stay. If you would like to become a host family, please complete the application form here or email David at dojeda@aggiecatholic.org with any questions.
Silent Workers
The Silent Workers provide food and help at receptions hosted by St. Mary’s. If you are interested in learning more, click here.
Seven Sisters Apostolate
The Seven Sisters Apostolate forms a prayer group of seven women who each devote one hour of prayer a week for one of our priests. If you’re interested in joining one of the groups, please contact Miriam Roman at mroman1227@gmail.com. Learn more here.
Meal Train for our Priests
A Meal Train has been set up for our priests to provide them with a meal on Sunday and Wednesday. There are instructions on the sign-up page concerning delivery, favorite meals, food allergies, etc. If you would like to provide a meal you can sign-up here. Email Virginia Higdon at virginia.higdon@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Wedding Sacristan Ministry
This Ministry serves specifically to assist the St. Mary’s priests in the preparation, setting, and cleaning up for wedding Masses and ceremonies. This is a volunteer position for the time being. Training for this ministry will be provided. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please email David at dojeda@aggiecatholic.org
Bible Study, Faith Formation, & Community
Hispanic Community

Men’s Bible Study
The Men’s Bible Study is open to all men and meets at noon on Mondays, except for holidays. We examine the upcoming Sunday's Mass Readings to provide thematic sense to those readings. That theme is applied to daily life and its challenges. Participants are encouraged to consider some change to their lives—even minimal incremental change. Although the studies often identify typical impediments to authentic Christian living, they are an encouragement that change is possible.

Catholic Men’s Fellowship
The Catholic Men’s Fellowship is open to all men and meets from 7 AM to 8:30 AM every Wednesday, except holidays. Through study, prayer, and fellowship, we strive to learn how to more fully live as Catholic men and become better disciples of Christ. Coffee is available. Participants are encouraged to consider commitments they can make to improve their own spiritual lives based on the topic of discussion.
