Thanksgiving Food Drive
Join us as we seek to feed families in the Brazos Valley who are in need.
Feed a Family
We will be collecting food item donations between November 2nd - November 17th to help feed families in the Brazos Valley. Our goal is to provide full bags to feed a whole family. A full bag costs about $25 in non-perishable items and $25 in a financial donation. If you are able to buy everything on this list, that would be helpful. Individual items (from this list) are also accepted. Donations can be placed in the bins in the back of the church or at the receptionist desk.
Items must not be in glass containers or expired. Items must be from our list:
2 X 15 oz cans of corn
2 X 15 oz cans of green beans
2 X 15 oz cans of fruit
1 X 29 oz can of sweet potatoes
1 X 1 lb bag of pinto beans
1 X 1 lb bag of rice
2 X 13-15 oz boxes of potato flakes
3 X 7.25 oz boxes of mac & cheese
1 X 6 oz box of stuffing mix
1 X 8 oz pouch of cornbread
1 envelope of dry gravy mix
1 X 18 oz jar of peanut butter
1 cake mix w/frosting
Our Mission
Hundreds of our neighbors in the Brazos Valley struggle to have enough food for their families, or pay their bills. Lack of affordable housing, good paying jobs, and affordable health care are just a few of the factors keeping people in poverty. Once again this holiday season, we have an opportunity to assist our neighbors in a simple, meaningful way. We are joining with St. Vincent de Paul Society in their yearly effort of providing 200 low or no-income families with groceries for a Thanksgiving meal.
Each family will receive a bag filled with these non-perishable items as well as a gift card to buy the perishable items like a turkey, eggs, etc... We would love for you to help us in this effort! Below are a couple ways you can help!
Donate Financially
If you’d prefer to financially sponsor a family or make a donation to help us cover the cost of the grocery card needed for perishables, you may donate via cash, check, or card.
Any amount is appreciated. For your reference, $25 provides the non-perishable groceries or the grocery card for the family and $50 sponsors a full family with both the non-perishables and the grocery card needed.
Cash or check can be dropped off before November 17th to the receptionist desk at St. Mary’s or mailed directly to St. Vincent De Paul (307 S. Main St., #105, Bryan, TX 77803). Please make checks out to St. Vincent de Paul Society-BCS and include Thanksgiving Food Drive on the memo line.
Card can be completed on the form below.
