To promote, through education and service, an understanding of the dignity of human life, from conception to natural death, and an unconditional love for all people, made in the image of God.
St. Mary's Aggies Promoting Life (SMAPL) functions as a committee of St. Mary's Advocates for Christ Today (ACT) and seeks to connect our parish with the Church’s mission to “instill respect for human life at all stages and to bring about a conversion of heart and mind for all to be open to God’s special gift of life.” SMAPL looks to raise awareness, educate, minister, and encourage prayerfulness among the faithful through activities such as Pro-Life Masses, Pro-Life Rally in the Capitol in Austin, Prayer events, and Pro-Life speakers as well as supporting the Good Samaritan Gabriel Project Life Center through drives to collect baby items for families in need, participation in the annual baby bank collection, and letter-writing campaigns that seek to ensure that our laws are based on a respect for life from conception to natural death.
