James Larkin is a graduate of Texas A&M University with both a B.B.A. and a M.S. in Accounting. He became a CPA in 2000 after passing the exam on his first attempt and receiving the State of Texas’ Top 10 Award- given to the 10 individuals with the highest scores for that year. He gained extensive experience in individual and corporate tax consulting at Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young prior to joining Thompson, Derrig & Craig in 2007.
James currently serves as the President-Elect of the BVCPA after two years as the Public Relations Chair. He also previously served on the TSCPA Investments Committee.
James is a graduate of Leadership Brazos and has previously served on the Finance Council of the Brazos Children’s Museum. He currently serves as the Chair of the Finance Council at St. Mary’s Catholic Church as well as the Vice Chair of Finance for the Better Business Bureau.
In his spare time, James is an avid sports fan serving as a high school football official with the Texas Association of Sports Officials. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
