Sunday for the Poor toiletry drive on October 5 & 6
In 2010, 46.2 million people in the USA lived in poverty and the US Department of Agriculture estimated that 49 million Americans, including 17 million children and 5 million seniors, were food insecure. Texas has the 3rd highest rate of people living in poverty and facing hunger! Recent reports showed that poverty has remained at the same level since then. Many families face tough decisions: do they pay their rent or mortgage, their utilities, buy the medications they need or put food on the table? They are relying on food pantries as last resort to be able to feed the family. In order to give them extra help, the St. Vincent de Paul Society food pantry provide some basic toiletries in addition of non-perishable food. You can help people of our community in need by participating to the Sunday for the Poor drive for toiletry items on Oct. 6 & 7.
Donations of shampoo and conditioner, bar soap, disposable razors, men or women's deodorant, toothpaste and brushes, toilet paper, dish detergent and laundry detergent can be dropped in the carts at the entrance of the church. Thanks for your support.
