According to the US Department of Agriculture, in 2010 close to 50 million Americans were living in a food insecure home, including 17 million children and 5 million seniors. That amounts to one out of six Americans. Often these families face tough decisions: do they pay their rent or mortgage, their utilities, buy the medications they need or put food on the table? They are relying on food pantries as last resort to be able to feed the family.
The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry provides families in need of our community with extra non-perishable food items and needs your help to restock, especially with cans of peas, corn, green beans, carrots, mixed veggies, spinach, soup, tuna and chicken. Donations can be dropped in the carts at the entrance of the church during the weekend. Thanks for showing your care for our brothers and sisters in need.
