“What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,’ but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead
”. (Jas 2:14-17).
Pope Benedict XVI has declared this year the Year of Faith. For our faith life to be integral, we need to combine spirituality and our social action as disciples of Christ. The Pope is asking us to take our faith off the shelf and put it into action. He challenges us to live our faith through our actions.
Under the theme “Putting Faith into Action”,
the week of March 18 to 24 is designed to help us learn some of the many ways we can live our faith in our everyday life. All activities are open to all those interested to attend.
